What’s for dinner this week? I’m keeping things simple, delicious, and balanced with a lineup that includes Orange Glazed Salmon, Sheet-pan Chicken, a hearty Protein Hamburger Pasta Bowl, our go-to Taco Night, and fresh Lemon Herb Chicken Bowls. The star of the week is definitely the Orange Glazed Salmon... it’s bright, flavorful, and surprisingly easy to pull together. Let’s dive into how I make it and why it’s quickly become a favorite around here.

Salmon is one of the best proteins you can add to your weekly rotation—it’s rich in omega-3 fatty acids, high in protein, and packed with important nutrients like vitamin B12, selenium, and potassium. It supports heart and brain health, helps reduce inflammation, and keeps you feeling full and energized. And if you’re someone who’s not usually a fan of the “fishy” taste, this orange glazed salmon recipe is a game-changer. The sweet, citrusy glaze balances everything out, making it a great option even for picky eaters or first-time salmon cooks.

The Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon filets

  • 1 medium sized orange (I like the flavor of Cara Cara oranges best)

  • Olive Oil

  • Trader Joes Salmon Rub (if not accessible for you, the seasoning mix contains: brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and thyme)

Once you’ve got your ingredients gathered, this recipe comes together quickly—perfect for busy weeknights. There are so many ways to cook salmon, but in the summertime, I love using my Ninja Foodi to roast it at 350°F for about 20 minutes. Of course, you can totally make this in the oven or even throw it on the grill, but when I’m running late or juggling a lot, the Foodi just makes things easier and more hands-off. It’s a simple method that still gives you perfectly cooked, flavorful salmon every time.

How to make your Orange glazed Salmon, Full Recipe!

  1. Preheat your Ninja Foodi to 350°F on the “Roast” setting, or if you’re using an oven, go ahead and set that to 350°F as well.

  2. Line the dish or tray you’re using with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Once lined, lay down two salmon filets, skin side down if they have skin.

  3. While the oven or Ninja is preheating, slice your orange into rounds. Set two slices aside—you’ll use these later for a beautiful finish.

  4. Drizzle about 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil onto each filet and gently massage it in so the fish is evenly coated.

  5. Next, season the salmon to your liking. I like to cover the surface well—don’t be shy with your favorite seasoning blend!

  6. Squeeze one whole orange slice onto each filet individually, make sure to flip so that each side has some orange juice. This is the last seasoning step before we put the salmon into the oven/ ninja.

  7. Bake at 350°F for about 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature hits 140°F. Then, flip the salmon, place one of those reserved orange slices on top of each filet, and return to the oven for another 10 minutes or so, until it reaches 145°F internally.

  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. I love pairing this dish with rice and steamed veggies for a well-rounded, super satisfying meal.
